Aspects of deprivation:
1. Economic → relative under-development in north east rise of insurgency in Nagaland, Assam etc.
unequal job opportunities: eg. Punjab, Tamil state for reliant agriculture → Karnataka and Maharashtra receives most FDI in country.
2. Social → Presence of tribes in Odisha, Jharkhand overlaid with deprivation of health and education facilities
3. Political → Eg: Jammu and Kashmir did to have a legislative assembly: caste political voice.

Rise of regionalism as a result of deprivation:
