Main Body
1As per WEF, India would need $10 trillions for achieving net zero emission by 2070. Economic Cost for Coal to green energy. (2) Energy Security: As now 80%+ of oil and gas is imported, thus green energy will reduce CAD but at same time, costly to install green energy. (3) High Cost installation for green energy i.e OTEC plants require $7-8 million for installation.
4Intermittency issue: as green energy is periodical and seasonal. (5) Transmission loss: [40%] for green energy. (6) Photovoltaic cell: needs semi-conductor, for which India is dependent on Korea, China, Taiwan. Social cost - (1) Loss of livelihood for local by coal mining projects.
